I wrote this poem some years ago, but it feels apt to share it at this time as we navigate the difficult waters around us.

The path of life is always clear But we create the rocks of fear The path may cross and sometimes wind So we decide to look behind For always there is safety there We stumble and we do not dare To take the path that is not straight And walk along and seal our fate If we could see the path ahead It would not fill us with the dread Of breaking out and letting go And following the path of hope We cling to all our fears inside We do not see, we prefer to hide It drains the breath we need to take To be so blind to make mistakes And you and I stand side by side Our heads they droop, we make things right The way we think they ought to go And place the rocks all round about But don't forget that deep inside The feelings that we try to hide They push us on and make us true To all the things we have to do And love it never settles down It's always there though changed somehow Let us remember when we ache That love will conquer all mistakes.
